Guided Meditations:
Dr. Yates enjoys sharing meditation techniques during appointments as needed or desired. Most techniques can be practiced together or alone in as little as 5 minutes. The key with each meditation technique is to create "many small moments" of peace and tranquility on a daily or weekly basis. More seasoned meditators often choose to practice for 30 - 45 minutes at a time.
A regular and consistent meditation practice is similar to an exercise regimen; when done properly, results tend to grow steadily and can be maintained over time with increasing ease. A well-practiced meditation skill set can often reduce the need for medications used to treat anxiety and depression.
As with physical exercise, safety and moderation are equally important aspects of meditation.
